Do you charge buyers a fee for representation?

Yes. Buyer representation is a flat retainer plus a success fee at closing, agreed upfront. In return you get a fiduciary working only for you — sourcing off-market aircraft, vetting logbooks, negotiating price, and coordinating pre-buy, escrow, title, registration, and delivery.

Most of our closings come from off-market deals. We tap a vetted owner and broker network across the Americas to surface aircraft before — or instead of — they hit the public market.

How long does a typical acquisition take?

Accepted Answer

From engagement to delivery, most transactions close in 60–120 days. Sourcing usually takes 2–6 weeks, the pre-buy inspection 2–4 weeks, and closing plus import/registration another 2–4 weeks depending on jurisdiction.

What's involved in a pre-buy inspection?

An independent MRO of your choice inspects logbooks, airframe, engines, avionics, and recent discrepancies. We oversee the scope, attend in person when needed, and negotiate any squawks with the seller before closing.

How do you price an aircraft I want to sell?

We build a valuation using Vref, Aircraft Bluebook, and — most importantly — actual recent closings of comparable serial numbers. You see the data behind the number, not a guess.

Do you handle import, registration, and closing logistics?

Accepted Answer

Yes — end-to-end. Escrow agent coordination, title search and insurance, FAA or ANAC de-registration and re-registration, ferry planning, import clearance, and delivery to your home base.

Can Sky Travel also manage the aircraft after I buy it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our acquisition clients transition into our management program — crew, maintenance oversight, charter revenue, and reporting — without changing teams. It's optional, never bundled.

How are transactions structured and protected?

Accepted Answer

We act as your advisor and transaction manager. Every deal is run through bonded escrow and title companies, with independent legal and technical counsel, so funds, title, and registration are handled by regulated third parties.
